Kiama Lions launch mobile recycling station

Residents of Cedar on Collins now have a new way to support environmental sustainability, with the Kiama Lions unveiling a mobile recycling station in the area.

The unit, known as the “Raytraption,” was installed following a request from the local community. Its introduction highlights the Lions’ ongoing commitment to grassroots environmental initiatives and community-driven projects.

Designed to be simple and secure, the mobile station allows residents to easily deposit eligible bottles and cans.

The initiative aims to encourage responsible recycling habits while supporting the broader goals of the Kiama Lions Environmental Program. Its accessible, user-friendly design ensures people of all ages can take part. Kiama Lions representatives say the project aligns with Lions Clubs International’s global focus on environmental protection. By bringing the recycling station to Cedar on Collins, the organisation hopes to boost local engagement, reduce waste, and strengthen community pride.

The project reflects the club’s broader mission, captured in its motto: “Local Heart, Global Impact.”
