A sense of solidarity marks Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea in Kiama

Kiama Municipal Council is pleased to announce Kiama Business Network and Cedar on Collins have stepped forward as the first major sponsors supporting the return of the New Year’s Eve Sky Show.

KBN and Cedar on Collins have each committed $10,000 as Major Sponsors, providing an important early boost to the campaign to bring fireworks celebrations back to their iconic Kiama Harbour location.

“This is exactly the kind of local leadership needed to make the event possible,” said Kiama Mayor Cameron McDonald.

“More than just fireworks, the Sky Show is a celebration of our community, a drawcard for visitors brings our community together, which attracts thousands of visitors and provides an important boost for local tourism, hospitality and retail businesses.”

KBN president Cathryn Lyall said they were delighted to be on board as a founding sponsor.

“Kiama Business Network is proud to become the first major sponsor of the 2026 New Year’s Eve Sky Show,” she said.

“It’s a much-loved community event and an important night for local businesses that draws both local families and visitors to our town centre for the evening. We’re proud to play a part in helping bring it back for 2026.”

Cedar on Collins marketing manager Camilla Walpole said: “We’re delighted to be involved in the Kiama NYE Fireworks and are looking forward to supporting this wonderful community event.”

Chair of the Tourism and Economic Advisory Committee, Councillor Matt Brown hoped these two commitments would encourage other potential sponsors to chip in as they aim for the $100,000 goal.

“A huge thank you to Kiama Business Network, Cedar on Collins and their teams for backing our community and helping build momentum behind the return of one of Kiama’s cherished traditions” he said.

“These two $10,000 partnerships give the campaign a fantastic start. It’s great to see momentum building already, and we look forward to welcoming more businesses and organisations on board as the community comes together to bring back this iconic event.”
